MUSK & HUSTLE MUSKOLOGY
THE ART OF LAYERING
THE THREE LAWS
- Layer with what you know well
- Never roll Nitro Musk or Her Nitro Musk over the top of one another
- Not all Nitro Musk and Her Nitro Musk Cocktails are works of art
Layer with what you know well
Wearing more than one fragrance at a time can give you a truly unique, fantastic scent, but it can also end badly. You should be familiar with a fragrance and know how it develops on its own from the open to the dry down before layering it with other fragrances.

MIXOLOGY TIP
To get a good idea of which scents might go well together, remove the caps from two bottles and hold them right next to each other. Next, wave the rollers under your nose to smell the two fragrances combined. It’s not a perfect test, but in many cases, it will give you a decent idea of what to expect.
As an alternative, you can get a small piece of paper, like a post-it note, and roll a small amount from two bottles onto the paper and then wave the paper under your nose to smell them together.
USE CAUTION
When mixing two yellows, avoid mixing two strong citrus fragrances. Try a citrus & vetiver combo, a sweet & woody combo, or a sweet & clean combo, among other possibilities.
GREAT COMBOS
Yellow and orange fragrances make great cocktails. You may even find that a Nitro Musk you don’t absolutley love on it’s ow, can be a part of a truly killer cocktail.
TYPICALLY AVOIDED
Because of the complexity, and the wild range of notes in many of the orange Nitro Musks, they rarely mix well together. There are exceptions to this, but they are rare.
